Voir le trajet planifié ici, nous nous rassemblerons au Carré Dominion (angle Peel et René Lévesque) avec des groupes partant du College Dawson, Concordia et McGill à 10h30 et nous passerons par l'UQAM à 11h00.


Les Sables Bitumineux de l'Alberta s’en viennent à Montréal. Via le Pipeline Trailbreaker d'Enbridge, Montréal Est est une nouvelle cible pour le plus grand projet industriel sur la planète. Du coeur engoudronné du problème pétrolier Canadien, les artères du pipeline se répandent de plus en plus loin, mettant chacun d'entre nous en aval de la destruction.


Les Sables Bitumineux cannibalisent l'eau, la terre et la forêt pour produire le pétrole le plus sale de la planète, pour bientôt devenir la plus grande source d’émission de gaz à effet de serre au Canada, ce qui pousse la planète vers un point de basculement climatique. Le projet, qui empoisonne les habitants de Fort Chipewyan, qui déchire l’étoffe sociale des communautés locales et qui gère un programme de travailleurs étrangers temporaires qui exploite les travailleurs migrants, existe pour s’assurer que le monde reste dépendant du pétrole.


Cet oléoduc pourrait faire passer 200 000 barils de pétrole brut chaque jour à Montréal, dont 40 000 barils seraient transformés et raffinés ici même, sur l'île! Pétro-Canada/Suncor, les MÊMES sociétés responsables d’exacerber la crise climatique mondiale, veulent apporter le flux de la destruction dans leur raffinerie dans l'Est de Montréal, et à ajouter à l'héritage toxique des machines industrielles massives qui émettent des fumées nocives, empoisonnent les eaux, créent de dangereux produits chimiques synthétiques tels que le paraxylène, le benzène et le toluène, et contribuent peu au niveau des services sociaux, de la nature et de la vie communautaire.

Monte à vélo en solidarité avec les communautés de première ligne partout - y compris dans notre cour-arrière - et joins-toi à la lutte pour la justice climatique à Montréal le 1er Avril

Laissons savoir à ces BOUFFONS du GOUDRON que nous disons:

- NON à ce pipeline qui apporterait du pétrole sanglant à cette raffinerie
- NON à la création d'une zone de sacrifice toxique de la taille de la Floride en Alberta
- NON à l’incinération de notre avenir avec des combustibles fossiles sales
- NON à la destruction du bassin hydrologique Athabasca
- NON aux programmes abusifs de travailleurs temporaires étrangers
- NON à l'empoisonnement des communautés autochtones en aval
- NON AUX SABLES BITUMINEUX À MONTRÉAL!

Le départ sera au Carré Dominion à 10h45, d’où nous entamerons une masse critique à vélo en utilisant notre énergie humaine, propre et verte, pour descendre la Sherbrooke jusqu’au cœur des sables bitumineux à Montréal: la raffinerie Pétro-Canada/Suncor (11675, rue Sherbrooke Est).

Des groupes partirons de l'UDM, Dawson, Concordia et McGill entre 10:00 et 10:30, et nous passerons par l’UQAM autour de 11h00. Contacte ton représentant local pour plus d'information:

Montreal Fights Back Against Dirty Oil Fueling the Climate Crisis

The Alberta Tar Sands are heading for Montreal. The east end of Montreal has become another target for the largest industrial project on the planet via the Enbridge Trailbreaker Pipeline. The pipeline's veins are spreading from the beating heart of Canada's dirty oil problem, placing all of us downstream from the destruction.


The Tar Sands are cannibalizing water, earth and forest to produce the dirtiest oil on the planet, bringing the world towards a climate tipping point as Canada's largest single point greenhouse gas emitter. The project which is poisoning the people of Fort Chipewyan, tearing the social fabric of local communities and running a temporary foreign worker program that exploits migrant labour to keep the world addicted to oill.


This pipeline could bring 200,000 barrels of crude, bitumen sludge through Montreal every day, with 40,000 barrels to be upgraded and processed right here on the Island! Petro-Canada/Suncor, the SAME corporations responsible for fueling the global climate crisis, want to bring the flow of destruction to their refinery in east Montreal, and add to the
toxic legacy of massive industrial machinery which emits toxic fumes, poisons water, creates harmful synthetic chemicals such as paraxylene, benzene and toluene, and has little in the way of social services, nature, and community life.


Ride and stand in solidarity with people on frontline communities everywhere - including our own backyard - and join the fight for Climate Justice in Montreal on April 1st
Let these FOSSIL FOOLS know that we say:
- NO to this pipeline to bring blood oil to this refinery
- NO to creating a toxic sacrifice zone the size of Florida in Alberta
- NO to burning our future with dirty fossil fuels
- NO to destroying the Athabasca watershed
- NO to exploitative temporary foreign worker programs
- NO to poisoning downstream Indigenous communities
- NO TO THE TAR SANDS IN MONTREAL!


We will be leaving from the Dominion Square at 10:45 a.m. to set off on a critical mass bike bloc, using clean, green people-power all the way down Sherbrooke to ground zero of the Tar Sands in Montreal: the Petro Canada/Suncor Refinery (11675 Rue Sherbrooke Est).


Groups will be leaving from UDM, Dawson, Concordia, and McGill between 10:00 and 10:30, and we will be making our way past UQAM around 11:00 contact your local rep for more information:
